A 7-night fly fishing trip package in Patagonia.

Built for those who already know the sport and want a full week on the water — no instruction, no other activity mixed in, just real fishing in a rustic setting.

It works especially well traveling as two anglers. For those who prefer to come as a couple, trekking, horseback riding, and wildlife watching are available in parallel for whoever isn't fishing — this gets discussed when the program is put together.

The six days combine wading and floating depending on the water's conditions and what the guide decides each day, with access to public and private rivers and lakes near Río Pico, in the heart of Chubut. La Loma is a rustic lodge, with no spa or scenic flights — the focus is on real time on the water. This itinerary is a starting proposal, not a closed program — it gets finalized based on who's traveling and what you're looking for.

We pick you up at Esquel airport and take you straight to the lodge to start the trip.

Nights close with home-style cooking (red meat, white meat, pasta, vegetables, fruit), one drink included per meal, and one Patagonian night with spit-roasted lamb, homemade empanadas, and flan.

Rates and stays
There's a different rate for those traveling with us for the first time, and discounts based on group size and length of stay. Details get worked out when the program is put together.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival at the lodge

After a three-hour drive through open Patagonian steppe, you reach the lodge as the light starts to fade. An artisanal appetizer platter, a good aperitif, and dinner with wine and dessert are waiting — or, if the timing works, head out to try the water that same afternoon before sitting down to eat.

  2. Day 2

    Fishing · Guided · Wading

A first full day on the river, working stretches only reachable on foot in search of brown and rainbow trout — the Pico River, Píldoras Creek, or one of the nearby lakes, depending on how the week is fishing. Back at the lodge: breakfast before heading out, lunch riverside or packed to go, an afternoon snack, and a full dinner with an appetizer platter, wine and dessert.

  3. Day 3

    Fishing · Guided · Float

A change of format: fishing from the boat, covering far more water than could be walked — the Nilson River, the Pampa River, Lake Vintter, or other lakes, depending on what the guide picks that week. Same rhythm of meals: breakfast, lunch by the water or packed to go, an afternoon snack, and dinner with appetizers, wine and dessert.

  4. Day 4

    Fishing · Guided · Boat

A different lake, this time from an anchored boat: a different rhythm, a different way of reading the water, without the current to work around. Same rhythm of meals: breakfast, lunch by the water or packed to go, an afternoon snack, and dinner with appetizers, wine and dessert.

  5. Day 5

    Fishing · Guided · Wading

Back to the river, with more stretches to explore depending on how the week has gone so far. Same meals as previous days.

  6. Day 6

    Fishing · Guided · Float

Another day by boat, covering different water than what's already been fished. Same meals as previous days.

  7. Day 7

    Fishing · Guest's choice

The last day of fishing is left open: repeat whichever technique worked best, or let the guide decide based on that day's water conditions. Same meals as previous days.

  8. Day 8

    Departure from the lodge

One last breakfast with the week's best stories still fresh, a packed meal for the road, and departure from La Loma Lodge toward Esquel.
