Escape Patagonia ("we", "us") runs escapepatagonia.com and organizes fly-fishing, trekking and horse-riding stays in Patagonia, Argentina. This page explains what personal information we collect through the site, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email, country, preferred dates, number of guests, a message, and optionally a phone number.
- Booking a call: your name, your email (verified with a one-time code we send you), the time slot you pick, and any notes about the stay you want to share.
- Trip configurator: the options you select for a stay, linked to your email if you go on to book a call.
- Basic technical data: when you visit, our hosting provider and (if enabled) Google Analytics may receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. Booking a call also sets a session cookie so we can recognize you after you verify your email.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry and plan your trip.
- To schedule your call, send you a confirmation email, and create a Google Calendar event with a Google Meet link and send you the invitation.
- To let our team know a new inquiry or call has been booked.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and sign-in (stores your inquiry, booking and verified email).
- Brevo: sending transactional emails such as your call confirmation.
- Google: Calendar and Meet for your call invitation, and Google Analytics for site statistics.
- Vercel: hosting of the website.
Google user data
Our use of Google services is limited to creating a calendar event on our own Escape Patagonia calendar and inviting you by email. We do not read, store or use anyone's Google Calendar, contacts or other Google account data. The only information passed to Google is your name, your email address and the time of the call you booked, solely to create and send that invitation.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and the trip you are planning, and afterwards for as long as we have a legitimate reason to, such as keeping a record of our conversations. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to hello@escapepatagonia.com. You can also decline cookies in your browser settings, though booking a call needs the session cookie to work.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
